A young man from the inner city is on trial for the premeditated murder of his father and, if found guilty, will be handed a mandatory death sentence. The twelve member jury must reach a unanimous verdict, otherwise the case will be declared a mistrial. Will the reasonable doubt of one lone juror be enough to separate fact from prejudice, anger, ignorance and indifference, and balance the scales of justice?

You won’t want to miss a step as these talented students, ages 9-18, demonstrate the styles and techniques of ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance as well as traditional dances from cultures around the world. Mill Girls

During the American industrial revolution of the 1840s in New England many labor organizations used the Lowell System whereby young women and girls were employed in the factories and lived away from their homes. Meet Octavia, Hannah, and other girls from a variety of cultural backgrounds and witness their struggle to help their families make ends meet, pay for their brothers’ Harvard tuition, and save for dreams of attending college themselves. You won’t want to miss seeing this compelling story from our history come vividly to life.

Travel to Anatevka and allow Tevye, the milkman, to give you a guided tour of the village and its residents. Watch as he struggles to balance his family and religious traditions with the growing pressure of modern influences. Faced with the strong wills of his three eldest daughters and the constant threat of the Tsar, Tevye seeks to respond to these challenges in ways that are compatible with his faith. However, he finds himself, in most cases, being led by his heart.

All school show performances are $5.00 per student/chaperone and free for teachers. Reservations can be made by calling Carolyn Waterbury-Tieman, SCAPA Arts Facilitator, (859) 381-3332 ext. 1102.

Tickets for performances at the Lexington Opera House are $10/student and $12.00/adult in advance and $1.00/ticket more at the door. These can be reserved by calling 233-3535 or purchasing directly from the Lexington Center Box Office, 430 W. Vine Street.

Tickets for performances at Beeler Auditorium are $8/student and $10/adult. They are only available at the door 90 minutes prior to curtain.

Tickets for performances at the Downtown Arts Center are $10/student and $12/adult in advance and $1.00/ticket more at the door. These can be reserved by calling 225-0370 or purchasing directly from the Downtown Arts Center Box Office, 141 Ea. Main Street.
