FOAS Board Meeting
Minutes for Oct 2008

Present at the meeting: Kathryn Warnecke Ryan, Cindy
Bennett, Carolyn Waterbury-Tieman, Marilyn Cunningham, Verity Mathews, Tracy
Lovan, Donnia Krebs, Ruth Babcock, Beth Poulton.
- Call
to order at 6:36
- Minutes
– minutes from August and September reviewed. Motion to approve by Cindy
Bennett, seconded by Carolyn Waterbury Tieman. Minutes approved.
- TreasurerŐs
Report – Tracy Lovan, treasurer, reported that information available
so far shows that Innisbrook sales were $14, 262 from catalog sales and
$900 online sales: FOAS will receive half of this money. Donations from
Benefactors currently $33,000; Sponsors $10,500; Business cards $2,100 and
Worth Our Investment $3,900. Checking
account balance $26,812.20. Money Market balance $14, 000. Discussion
about doing a second mailing to parents re donations. A new sign has been
purchased listing corporate sponsors to display during performances.

Report:
- 8th
Grade trip is being organized to Atlanta March 6-8.
- Discussion
of school shows for Twelve Angry Men. There were no responses to offer to
subsidize bus cost to get students to the play. Several Lafayette classes
will be attending; there is no charge for Lafayette students to attend
school shows.
- Funding
requests/decisions: See above re Kroger cards and Box Tops for 8th Grade
Trip.
- Principal/Faculty
Report: Marilynn Cunningham requested that FOAS sign over any money raised
through Kroger cards and Box Tops to be applied as a fund raiser for the
trip. Motion to approve was made by Carolyn Waterbury-Tieman and seconded
by Verity Mathews.
- Productions
Report - Donnia Krebs
- Tickets
for Willy Wonka on sale.
- Discussion
of lack of access on Saunier Alley and options
for dropping off and picking up students before and after the show. This
issue will be brought up with production team and Ms. Lab.
- Arts
Facilitator – Carolyn Waterbury-Tieman
- Brochures
for productions will be ready tomorrow and these will be distributed
downtown at the Opera House, Downtown Arts Centre, Library, Explorium and
Lexington Children's Theatre. Parents were encouraged to distribute them
elsewhere.
- Directories
are now out. Board congratulated those who worked on the project as a job
well done. Proposal for increasing the budget for printing to $800 for
next year.
- Reunion
set for Dec 27th. Focus on class of 1998 as this will be their 10th
Anniversary. Matt Krebs has been asked t coordinate a showcase. In
addition, Debbie Cole has volunteered to be a DJ and will use Ms.
Stayton's equipment for this. Reunion to be held in Multi-Purpose Room
but the school will be open for people to tour.
- Newsletter
deadline extended to Monday 27th October.
- Art
Lease is set for November 21st in the Multi-Purpose Room. This will be
before Twelve Angry Men so people will be able to attend both functions.
