FOAS Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009
Present at meeting: Kathy Warnecke Ryan, Cindy Bennett, Carolyn Waterberry Tieman,Lynsey Sugarman, Kim Lee,Kerstin Wendroth
Call to order: 6:35pm
- Items for discussion: (no quorum)
- Minutes: Kathy Ryan minutes from last meeting, reviewed. Minutes agreed upon.
- Treasurer's Report:
- Kathy Ryan reported for Tracy Lovan. FOAS will transfer money from checking account to money market account to draw more interest.
- President's Report:
- Kathy Ryan signing forms to allow volunteers into building for the moving and cataloging of costumes for Saturday, February 21, 2009. Mrs. Cunningham will be in the building also on that day as to not incur custodian charges.
- Officially changing date of DANCE SCAPA in 2010 from February to the month of April. Dates to choose from are April 16, 17, or April 23, 24.
- Arts Facilitator:
- Carolyn Waterbry-Tieman will be looking into a "mass school calendar" to cut down on overlapping SCAPA after school events. Information available to parents and teachers via website.
- A volunteer is needed to help work on the "Volunteer Form" that goes to the parents so that it is clear and concise. Carolyn has some people in mind to contact for this position.
- 4th of July Parade committee is in need of a chair person to get project off the ground. Last year a banner was carried by students, looking to elaborate on event this year.
- Gallery Hop is scheduled for April 17th 5-8pm. It will include SCAPA Art Lease artists and SCAPA Bluegrass performers.
- A great read offered by Carolyn was a book by Daniel Pink, "A Whole New Mind."
- Meeting date for FOAS March Meeting will be changed to MONDAY, MARCH 16TH, 2009 AT 6:00PM IN THE LIBRARY!
- Principal/Faculty Report:
- Principal Cunningham was in attendance at both the SBDM meeting and the FOAS meeting. Discussion on positive test results on moral of a high performing school. SCAPA scored extremely well.
- Meeting adjourned at 7:40pm.
