Do schools kill creativity?

I shared this Do schools kill creativity? talk with you last year and thought it was worth another look and to make it available to others who may not have seen it.

The Music Man

Please come out and see Paragon Music Theatre's production of The Music Man. Current SCAPA kids as well as SCAPA alumni, Jessie and James Pennington, are in the show. And of course Ms. Lab is directing it.

Summer Volunteer Program

Summer is fast approaching and soon teenagers will begin looking for ways to fill their summer with activities. At Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East, there are a variety of volunteer assignments available to teens ages 14 and older.

Saint Joseph's has numerous volunteer opportunities for students in patient-care and non-patient care placements. Here is a great chance to get some career experience or fulfill community service hour requirements for classes or clubs. Volunteer experience looks great on college or scholarship applications, AND you get the personal satisfaction of helping others.

  • Students interested in Saint Joseph's Summer Volunteer Program can get more information at http://www.saintjosephhealthsystem.org/volunteer.
  • You must be 14 years of age by the end of June 2008 to participate.
  • Questions? Call Jamine Hammer, Coordinator Volunteer Services at (859) 313-1290.
