Beth Randolph Receives 2008 Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Award (TAA)
One of our teachers, Beth Randolph, has been selected by the The Kentucky Department of Education and Ashland Inc. to receive the 2008 Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Award (TAA). These teachers will now compete for the 2008 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award, which will be announced next month. This is very exciting for SCAPA and well deserved for Beth. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the next announcement! More information about this award is available on the Dept. of Education website.
Fundraiser
We are participating in a fundraiser with ArtsEatsEtc.com (They promise never to sell, rent, loan or exchange email addresses). SCAPA is listed on their site so we receive free advertising for all of our productions and events. We will receive $1.00 for every subscription to their site for up to $500.00. This is easy, free and painless so just take a few minutes to follow the directions below. We will be sending cards home with the students in the next few days telling about this fundraiser. Please encourage your friends and family to subscribe also. Send the word out via your email list. Thank you.

The Kentucky Ballet Theatre
The Kentucky Ballet Theatre is looking for boys, ages 9-14, to appear in the party scene of The Nutcracker. They need not have dance training as they will be acting, not dancing. Most rehearsals will take place on Sunday at the KBT studio on National Avenue near Ashland Elementary. If you are interested call 252-5245.
Former SCAPA Student Update
Two former SCAPA students currently at Interlochen have been cast in significant roles in the upcoming production of “The Illusion” based on a book by Pierre Corneille, adapted by Tony Krishner. Lucy Sharp has the role of Isabelle and Chris Stahl will play Pridamante. Congratulations to our SCAPA kids!
